RACE PAGE

Our race is held on the last Sunday in February each year – next one is 22nd February 2009.

We are one of the cheapest races but with a good prize list as we wish to encourage runners to take part. In fact we now have to close the entry list before race day.

The course is undulating (Yorkshire Style) - what do you expect in the Pennines - but with a fast finish!

The course record for males is 32:45(1997) held by Rob Holladay of Morpeth AC and for females is 36:07 (2002) held by Rowan Smith of Scarborough AC.

There is a £100 bonus for anyone creating a new course record (male and female).

Marshals are withdrawn in line with a 15 minute mile pace.

On race day there are morning snacks (bacon butties etc.) which can, at least, be enjoyed by the spectators and the bar is open afterwards, which the runners can now enjoy for a well earned drink.

Run Direct of Barnoldswick will also be present with their race shop.
